The Greatest Taco Tuesday in the History of Taco Tuesdays
Word to the wise: start sneaking in a few neck stretches this week. Really warm up those muscles. Trust us. Because next Tuesday, there’re going to be a ton of tacos flying at you. And one thing’s for sure: no one has time for “taco neck.”
Where might one find this glorious shower of tacos, you ask? None other than the A+E District’s first ever Taco Tuesday Throwdown. Yep, we’re celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with this quintessential Latin handheld favorite on Tuesday, October 3rd at CANVAS.
From 7 – 10 p.m., you’ll witness a gathering of the most sublime tacos spots this city has to offer. Taco meccas like Taquiza, Bodega, Taquerias El Mexicano and Tacology, to name a few. Each one will be featuring a special menu for the night and serving up tacos for $2 each, so feel free to taco hop to your heart’s delight. Gio Gutierrez (Chat Chow TV), Dianne Rubin (Miami Food Pug) and Diandra Salcedo (Yelp Miami) will be our honorary judges for the night, deciding on which South Florida taco reigns supreme.
Tacos make people thirsty. That’s a scientific fact. Good news: we’ll have plenty of hand-crafted mezcal and tequila cocktails on hand to quench your thirst and give you some dancefloor fuel when Afrobeta hits the stage. And for the dessert fiends in the house, 32 Bubbles and Wynwood Parlor will be there with some sugary confections to satiate that demanding sweet tooth.
The event is free, but there’s a lot happening out there right now—we don’t need to tell you that. In light of that, please consider making a donation to Fondo Unido México’s Earthquake Disaster Fund, a vetted non-profit who is part of the United Way network. They’ve created an emergency fund to help the areas affected by the earthquakes as well as the recent series of hurricanes.
