September Events at A+E: The “September to Remember” Edition
This month, we’re beginning to chart a course for fall. Although with the temps outside, it feels a bit more like an eternal summer. For some, it will be a September to remember; but after Hurricane Irma, for others, it will be a September to forget. We’re rounding up good deeds and supplies for those affected by the storm. And hey, we’re rolling with it—and channeling a bit of Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September” for good measure because… why not? Order up a PSL and take a few glorious autumn-y sips while you check out what the A+E District is serving up this month.
Join us for a concert for a cause on Thursday, September 21st with Brendan O’Hara. We are collecting supplies to benefit our neighbors in the Florida Keys and Caribbean who were affected by Hurricane Irma! This special Rooftop concert at the Filling Station is free to the public but we ask that you bring a minimum of one item from the list below.
Supplies in need:
Canned, ready-to-eat items with pull tops (i.e. vegetables, fruit, etc)
Protein in pouches or pull top-cans (i.e. tuna, beef stew, chili, canned chicken)
Snacks (i.e. granola bars, breakfast bars, etc)
Paper towels + toilet paper
Cleaning supplies (i.e. mops, mop buckets, brooms, bleach wipes, bleach, garbage bags, bug spray)
Bar proceeds will benefit Hurricane Irma Relief Efforts.
Start a new season in collaboration with creatives at The Miami Flea edition of a September to Remember! Stroll the Vendor Village to find your new favorite piece; whether it’s art, fashion, vintage furnishings, or a living bloom. Come hungry — we’re featuring our city’s best eateries and local delicacies! Come sit in the cool shade while you grub and enjoy live music with Miami’s favorite acts; this month featuring Oigo, Cortadito and The State Of.
We are collecting supplies for our neighbors in the Florida Keys and Caribbean. Please bring your unused supplies (examples listed above).
We may not have Emmett “Doc” Brown’s mad time traveling skills (or a DeLorean), but we can deliver the next best thing: a virtual reality (VR) event that does a really convincing job of making you think you’ve gone back to the future. We’re setting up VR stations at CANVAS that’ll show you what’s ahead for the A+E District along with interactive art stations with an eye to the future. You’ll meet some of Miami’s top technology companies, listen to emerging electronic talent and in case things get a bit too… trippy, we’ve got bubbly on hand to ease the way.
