July Events at A+E: The “It’s Really Hot” Edition
Breaking news: summer’s in full swing, people. While the city’s slowing down and trying to keep its cool, the action at the A+E can’t stop, won’t stop. Got the requisite shades and sunblock? Alright. Now you’re ready to check out these three can’t-miss events going down at the A+E District this month:
Sunday, July 16, 4 – 8 p.m. | Miami Flea: Midsummer Day Dream
Our monthly market is back and bringing the heat… can ya’ll feel that? (Will Smith. Never gets old.) Hosted by El Tucan’s Miss T, the midsummer edition of the Flea is a great time to check in with your neighbors and stock up on vintage threads, handmade goods and seriously cool vinyl from some of your favorite local artisans and small businesses. JUKE, Yoli Mayor, Nicole Chirino and Master Feathers will be setting the melodic vibes while you nosh on bites from local eateries and quench your thirst with refreshingly spiked bevvies under the cool shade. You can even do your good deed for the summer and adopt a pup that needs a loving home. Speaking of which, bring your four-legged partner in crime and the kids, too—the Flea’s a full-on family affair.
Friday, July 21, 8:30 – 10 a.m. | Creative Mornings
Coffee, breakfast, inspiration—what more could your morning possibly ask for? Creative Mornings, a breakfast lecture series for the creative community, is inviting you over to Canvas to fuel your body and mind. Sip on Vice City Beans’ killer brews while Tea and Ziggy introduce you to [kin]soul, a grassroots movement that’s inspiring, leading and cultivating other spiritually-inclined creatives to follow their passions. This enlightening duo is working to create a sustainable and inspirational platform that inspires others to follow their truest paths in life while creating a community of conscious souls and spiritual humanitarians.
Thursday, July 27, 7-10 p.m. | Loft Hop at The Filling Station
Winding down the month, we’re channeling those dorm room days of yore with Loft Hop—a night dedicated to room hopping in search of the perfect party haven. The Filling Station Lofts will be opening their doors to the public that night, with each loft sporting a different theme or musical experience. In one room, you might find yourself jamming to a live set by Big Brooklyn Red, while the neighboring loft cranks out DJ-spun tunes by Master Feathers. DoggystyleMiami will be providing the grub, and rumor has it there’ll even be some virtual reality and bubbles on hand. Trippy. Will there be hand-crafted cocktails, you ask? Natch. We’d never leave you hanging like that.
